CZCS seasonal chlorophyll within the LTER grid. There are no data for the top pannel during (Austral) winter. The 2nd pannel shows the springtime average (Sept, Oct, Nov) with high chlorophyll values in the north east (bottom right) corner of the grid. The remainder of the grid may have been ice and/or cloud covered and consequently show no data. The 3rd and 4th pannels show summer (Dec, Jan, Feb) and fall (March, April, May) chlorophyll averages respectively. Satellite coverage of this area is incomplete, so these data are primarily for illustrative purposes and do not necessarily accurately represent seasonal variability.
