Description
Data source is ETOP05 &/or (the world data base) with a spatial
resolution of roughly 5' (5 nautical miles) with depths given
in meters. Largest grid section includes oceanic regions surrounding
the LTER site including the eastern Bellingshausen Sea, Drake
Passage and the Antarctic Peninsual (55S to 70S latitude, 55W to
80W longitude). The LTER Grid is an area west of the Antarctic
Peninsula and covers an area of 900 km (roughly parallel to the
peninsual) by 200 km (on to off-shore). Within this grid, cardinal
lines spaced every 100 km along the peninsula and cardinal points
spaced every 20 km on to off-shore comprise the basic LTER sampling
stations.
