Ecosystem Illustrations

Illustrations created by Sea Secrets children's book artist and illustrator Kirsten Carlson were designed to encourage students to explore and compare ecosystems. Students analyze and compare living and non-living components from the Atlantic, the Pacfiic and the Southern Ocean. These ecosystem illustrations align specifically with our lessons and help students begin to make observations, create comparisons between ecosystems and even demonstrate their own artistic talents.

Species Identification Cards

Easily downloadable sets of black and white species identification cards representing common marine organisms from four different ecosystems covering many different phylums. The cards are specifically used within our Classification, Interdependent Relationships in Food Webs and Evidence of Change instructional materials. However, you may find they have uses beyond those lessons!
