Clearly we have not been generous enough with our gifts to King Neptune, because he's knocking us all over the place right now! Today has been one of the roughest days on board, and the barometer just keeps dropping. I actually haven't been totally seasick, which is pretty cool, but imagine trying to pour water and run experiments while the floor keeps heaving about! It's definitely a challenge. People seem to be part of a bizarre synchronized dance. Walking down the hall involves everyone kind of staggering from side to side and knocking into the walls (think A-Ha's "Take on Me.") I am trying to be careful with the belly though, and rest up in the bunk whenever possible. The winds have been picking up, so they rescheduled today's last CTD drop for tomorrow morning, which means that a lot of people will be going to bed earlier than planned. I had such an absolutely amazing time at Rothera yesterday. The people were kind, the view was gorgeous, and the animals were beyond accessible. I'm attaching a picture of one of the Adelie penguins who seemed just as curious about us as we were about him. Tomorrow I'll be sure to give you much greater detail of our visit. Today, I think it's best if I keep the typing to a minimum. Okay, until tomorrow!! -Miss C! Steph :)
