Well, we had a lot of fun with the digital camera last night. Rich spent some time in the Zooplankton lab taking pictures with the "macro" feature, which enables you to get really close and take pictures of very tiny things. This was not an easy feat, with the boat rolling and the animals moving around in the dishes, but some of the photos turned out really well! I'm going to send along a picture of a Limacina, the snail-creature that I described to you in message 9. Keep in mind that although the picture is rather large, the Limacina that we've been seeing have not been much bigger than pencil erasers. We've had a lot of luck seeing really cool tiny creatures, but not so much with the really cool BIG creatures that we've also been hoping to see. We're keeping our eyes peeled for whales! Brett and Heidi, the resident birders said that they saw a Humpback way off in the distance three days ago, but nothing since then. I'm optimistic that one will turn up to say hello eventually. Keep your fingers crossed! I can't believe how quickly the time is flying by here! There's only about two weeks left here on the ship! We're getting ready for the crossing ceremony and paying tribute to King Neptune as we enter his "sacred seas." I'll give you more details on this as they develop. It involves a skit and eating lots of gross things, that's all I know at present. Well, this one's going to be brief, but I promise you a juicier one tomorrow! Until then, keep well! -Steph (Miss C!)
